New Challenge – I’m Pushing Myself

So Chad and I have been discussing our challenge and I am excited to get started.  We are going to be staring it November 1st and we are both giving it 100%.   Both of our goals is to lose body fat, tone and just be healthier people.

I want to make sure that I am taking care of myself so I can teach my kids how to take care of themselves and not just be that mama who does everything for everyone else.  Basically, I’m sick of just letting myself go while everyone else flourishes you know?

Here’s my video about my new challenge.

I’m looking for people to join with me and really take it seriously.  I will be sticking to 2 shakes a day, fruits, veggies, some awesome super foods that will aid in belly fat loss and working out.  I’m not cutting out carbs because I think that’s a bad idea but I will reduce them.

I’m not sure if I’m going to set up a weekly workout, I’ll try to add some here for you to do, but I’ll think about it more tomorrow once we clean out our old place since we moved this past weekend.

This is definitely going to be hard as we have Thanksgiving and Christmas but I figure if I am pretty good and teaching myself better control with my food and chocolate intake that everything will fall in to place.

I am excited that I will be whipping Chad’s butt in this challenge.  It will be nice to have a buddy to work out with and to kick their butt at the same time :) .  I already taste the winning coming through… and it tastes delicious!

Are you trying to lose weight?  Do you need a challenge? Do you need motivation? Or help to get there?  Join us on the challenge! We would love to have other people documenting their 90 Day Challenge where they start and where they are going.

New Weight Loss Challenge

Shay And Chad’s 90 Day Challenge

So Chad and I have had a very rocky last year. With family issues, family deaths and just me being me its just been a year.

When you have years like these, you can either do 2 things:

  1. You can give up, complain about it, blame other people and not be accountable or you can
  2. Take responsibility, accountability and fix it.  You can’t fix what you don’t acknowledge and so acknowledging it and holding yourself accountable is where you should start.

So Chad and I are embarking on a 90 Day Challenge together to really end this year strong and begin the new year even better.

Things I will be doing other than taking my 2 Shakes that Taste Like Cake a day is cutting back on carbs and upping veggies.  Also, while I know lifting helps to burn calories and build muscle, for the first month I will be cutting out lifting and focusing on cardio (5-6 times a week) and ab workouts. The last 2 months I will add my lifting regimen back.

Chad’s regimen will consist of 3-4 days of cardio and 2-3 days of weight training.  He will also blog about it, when he starts I’ll add his blog here.  Currently he’s laying on the couch watching the Big Bang Theory and trying to get him to the computer is damn near impossible when this show is on :) .

Shay And Chad’s 90 Day Challenge

Chad’s stats:

  • Weight: 203
  • Body Fat: 22.3%
  • BMI: 29.0
  • Chest: 40 1/2 inches
  • Waist: 36 1/4
  • Belly (in front of belly button) 37 3/4
  • Hips: 39 1/2
  • Left Thigh: 24 1/2
  • Right Thigh: 25 inches
  • Right Arm: 14 inches
  • Left Arm: 13 3/4

Oh nelly lots of stats for us, but I want to be thorough.  We are both really going to be working this.  We might not do weekly updates but probably bi-weekly updates. Now for me.

Shay’s stats:

  • Body Fat: 28.4%
  • BMI: 24.4
  • Weight: 139
  • Chest: 37 1/2 inches
  • Waist: 30 1/2 inches
  • Belly (in front of belly button): 36 3/4 inches
  • Hips: 37 1/2 inches
  • Left Thigh: 21 inches
  • Right Thigh: 22 3/4 inches
  • Left Arm: 10 1/2 inches
  • Right Thigh: 10 1/4 inches

So obviously I have a lot of toning to do, but I need to get rid of the fat that is hovering over my belly.  Honestly, I’m okay with my arms and legs and my butt (I’ll be doing squats to firm that baby up), but my belly is definitely a work in progress.

It’s definitely going to be awesome having the extra support with this challenge. It’s always nice having support when you lose weight because losing weight is so hard to do anyway. I’m sure you know how that goes.

Want to start a 90 Day Challenge to end out the year? You don’t need to wait until the new year, start now.  If you are on a 90 Day Challenge, share share share, I’d love to support you and rock out in awesomeness.

Days 4-7 Update

Sorry this is so late.  I am going to Miami for our ViSalus training and I have been trying to figure out babysitters, flights, etc before I leave next week.

Anyway, I lost a total of 4-5lbs on the cleanse and I felt okay after I was done. To read more about it, you can check it out here. I know some people do this for 2 weeks, but I couldn’t do it.  I needed some meat in my life LOL.

I didn’t think to take pictures, I have been terrible with pictures LOL.

Overall it was a success. While I don’t think I will do anything like this again, I think I will do a day of fruit cleanse and veggie cleanse and then a day of meat and the soup.  I actually really enjoyed the soup.

That’s my short update for now :)

If you are looking for some extra motivation, check out this blog on how I got out of that “zone.”
